This development, located in the centre of Ipswich, entails rear and top-floor extensions and change of use to create a mixed-use development containing commercial ground floor and eight residential units above. Developed by Coolbergen Properties, the scheme was grated planning permission by Ipswich Council in July 2021.

BLDA Consultancy carried out daylight and sunlight assessment of the impact on the neighbouring residential dwellings as well as future light levels withing the proposed residential flats. We provided specialist advice to the architect, Barefoot & Gilles, on design mitigation pertaining to maximising light levels to the proposed flats while minimising overlooking and loss of privacy to the neighbouring habitable rooms. This was, for example, achieved, through the introduction of different types of glass and materials used.
